Area & Activities

Mountain Views at RiversEdge is located just outside the town of Creede, Colorado within Mineral County. Nearly 96% of the county is public lands, made up of the Rio Grande National Forest and the La Garita and Weminuche Wildernesses. The vast expanse of alpine valleys surrounded by rugged peaks make the area an outdoor-lovers paradise! Spectacular scenery with abundant wildlife and exciting adventures await any visitor.

The town of Creede began as a fast-paced, rough-and-tough silver mining camp in the late 1800's. Hard rock mining continued as the dominant economic factor in Creede for nearly a century. In 1985, when the price of silver dropped again, the mines shut down. Today Mineral County sees more tourism than mining.

Recently awarded the Governor's Art Award, the people and businesses of Creede are proud of their collective efforts in using the arts to enhance the cultural and economic vitality of the area. With many commercial galleries, an active Arts Council and a nationally recognized Theatre, Creede shares not only its beautiful natural setting, but also a vibrant arts community with its visitors.
